Chapter 21. Parted.
That night, Taemin went to the park and stared at the ring case he'd been fiddling with in the morning. He clenched his fist to fight back the tears, which couldn't help but rolled down his cheeks. Coincidentally, Min was taking a stroll in the park, alone. She saw Taemin on the bench with something in his hand. She walked over to Taemin only to find him putting away the case.
"What's that?" Min asked.
"Nothing," Taemin answered, wiping his tears.
"Oppa, why are you so mad at me today? You made me feel guilty," Min pouted.
"Mianhae," Taemin replied, sniffling.
"Gwaenchanayo. I know we will always forgive and forget, right?" Min smiled.
'No, Min. Not today,' Taemin thought to himself.
"Ye," Taemin lied.
"Oppa, I got something to say," Min said as she sat down.
"What is it, Min? Tell me, anything."
"Well, I um.. Ready to get.." Min paused.
"Get married, with me? JIN JJA?" Taemin shouted, excited for Min's reply.
"Mianhae," Min looked down.
Taemin's expression changed. Why does Min apologized to Taemin?
"Wae?" Taemin asked while looking at Min.
"I.. I'm.." Min stammered again.
"Tell me, Min."
"Oppa, I'm getting married with Sung Min oppa," Min burst out crying.
Taemin was too shocked to say anything. His ideal girl getting married to a guy who was.. Now he knows, that guy who drove her to school, who stood behind her, who tried helping Taemin to pick up his books was his ideal girl's husband to be. But why did Min hide it all from Taemin?
"So, I guess it's over huh?" Taemin asked in a soft voice, looking away from Min.
"Yes, oppa."
"Gwaenchanayo. Be happy. I'm happy for you. He is your man. He gets my girl. Smile," Taemin gulped trying to hold back his tears.
"Cheongmal?" Min asked looking at Taemin.
"Ye. Don't cry anymore," Taemin wiped Min's tears and kissed her forehead.
"I got to go, do you need me to send you home?" Taemin asked.
"It's okay. Sung Min will be fetching me," Min replied, sniffling.
"Ah, I get it. I guess, I'll be going now," Taemin stood up getting ready to leave.
Min grabbed his wrist and kissed Taemin for the last time before getting married to a man who she never wanted to be with.
"Mianhae," Min said under her breath.
"It's okay, really." Taemin replied with a tight hug, before walking away.
'Lee Taemin, not your luck.' Taemin whispered to himself as he walked away from the park.
He pulled out the ring case and stared at it. There won't be anymore lucky girl to be his bride, anymore. Taemin fought back his tears before keeping the ring case safe in his pocket.
